BENNINGTON, Vt. — The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced its weekly award winners for the period ending March 27, 2016 on Monday with Southern Vermont College senior Rachel Robtoy (Baltic, Conn.) being tabbed as the league's Softball Player of the Week.
Robtoy had a big day-cap at Elms College on Thursday to turn in a .750 batting average for the week (3-4). After working a walk in the doubleheader's opener, she went 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs in the second contest of the day. She was also perfect in the field, converting on all five total chances she saw defensively.
This is the first career weekly Conference honor for the senior captain.
Robtoy and the Mountaineers are back in action on Thursday when they head to Mass. College of Liberal Arts for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference twin bill.
