BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced Monday its weekly spring awards for the week ending April 6, 2014 with Southern Vermont College freshman Lauryn Zovistoski (Granville, N.Y.) taking home the Softball Rookie of the Week honor.

Zovistoski had a great week for the Mountaineers, going 6-7 in two games at Daniel Webster College on Sunday to help SVC move to 2-0 in the NECC. She went 3-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored in game one against the Eagles, roping two triples in the process. She followed that with a 3-4 showing in game two, scoring once while knocking in two more. She added a double to finish the twin-bill with a 1.57 slugging percentage.

Zovistoski and the Mountaineers look to their non-conference doubleheader at Williams College on Wednesday, starting at 3:30 p.m., before traveling to the Boston area for a weekend of conference action at Lesley University and Newbury College.
