BENNINGTON, Vt – Mitchell College dropped Southern Vermont Softball in two games. In the first game the Mountaineers lost 16-1 and in game two SVC fell 20-2 in five innings.
In game one the Mountaineers were only down 5-1 before Mitchell College scored 11 runs in the last two innings. Katelyn Boyd was on the mound for SVC giving up 16 hits and striking out four. Thomas started on the hill for the Mariners going five innings and allowing three hits and one run.
In game two Boyd started the game for the Mountaineers going three innings before Jocelyn Donlon and Heather Kilventon each pitched one inning of relief for SVC. Boyd allowed 11 runs on 11 hits. Donlon and Kilventon allowed nine runs on two hits. The Mariners were able to pick up nine walks off Donlon and Kilventon.
Tomaselli pitched five innings for Mitchell allowing two runs on seven hits.
Davis went 3-5 on the day with one RBI and scored two runs. Kilventon and Sara Simonetti also picked up two hits on the day for the Mountaineers.
SVC returns to action tomorrow against NECC opponent Bay Path College. The first game is set for 1:00 p.m. and Willow Park.
