ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Southern Vermont College senior captain Marc Brandmeyer (Bennington, Vt.) picked up the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor for the week ending September 24, 2017 on Monday—collecting the league accolade for the second time this year.

Brandmeyer had a great race Saturday against a tough, 324-runner field at Williams College's Purple Valley Classic. The captain finished first for the Mountaineers with a time of 28:55—charting a pace of 5:50 per mile on the 8,000 meter course.

Monday's laurel is the eighth of Brandmeyer's career.

Brandmeyer and the Mountaineers continue the season on Saturday with the Keene State College Invitational.
