BENNINGTON, Vt. — Bennington College freshman Noah Froh (Milwaukee, Wis.) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week on Monday for the period ending October 18, 2015.
Froh had a great outing at Saturday's Western New England Golden Bear Invitational, placing third for the Mountaineers and 15th overall. His time of 28:17 put him at eighth on the all-time Southern Vermont record list. The BC freshman had a pace of 5:42 per mile on the 8k course, taking 1:26 off his previous best time for a new personal record. This is his second league award this year after he was named the top NECC rookie on September 14.
Froh was joined in receiving Conference accolades by junior Justin Ferguson (Broadalbin, N.Y.) who was selected as the NECC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, junior captain Shelby Whitman (Bennington, Vt.) who picked up the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor, and Bennington College sophomore Annika Kristiansen (Keene, N.H.) who was tabbed the NECC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.
Both Southern Vermont teams are back in action this Saturday, October 24 with a collective men's and women's 5k at Williams' Plansky Invitational, the last race before the NECC Championship takes place October 31.
