BENNINGTON, Vt. — For the second straight week, Southern Vermont College junior Justin Ferguson (Broadalbin, N.Y.) has been honored as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the league on Monday for the period ending September 13, 2015.

Ferguson won his second consecutive race on Saturday, leading the field at the Castleton University Invitational with a time of 27:16 (5:29/mile). This is his second career NECC Runner of the Week honor as the junior was also named such last Monday.

The Mountaineer was joined in receiving Conference nods by freshman Noah Froh (Milwaukee, Wis.) who captured the NECC Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week award. Fellow SVC junior Shelby Whitman (Bennington, Vt.) was also named the NECC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Southern Vermont now gears up for the Johnson State College Invitational set to take place this Saturday.
