BENNINGTON, Vt. — The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its weekly cross country award winners on Wednesday for the period ending October 25, 2015 with Southern Vermont College junior Justin Ferguson (Broadalbin, N.Y.) picking up the Division III New England Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honor.

This is Ferguson’s second career ECAC accolade as he was named the New England Rookie of the Week last year during his first collegiate season. The Mountaineer finished third at the Plansky Invitational, hosted by Williams College, completing the 5,000 meter run in 16:31.0 on Saturday to lead the team. He was an immediate nominee for the ECAC laurel as the New England Collegiate Conference did not select award winners this week.

Ferguson’s recognition is the second for SVC by the ECAC this season, Bennington College freshman Noah Froh (Milwaukee, Wis.) taking claim to the ECAC DIII New England Rookie of the Week honor on September 16.
