The 8,000 meter race hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock Regional High School contained 277 entries and saw SVC score 14th out of 40 placing teams. Saturday was the third time this season that Southern Vermont ran at the high school and the team's second 8k at Mount Greylock. Mountaineer junior Justin Ferguson (Broadalbin, N.Y.) carried a steady pace throughout the morning run, finishing third overall with a mark of 26:31; that was 21 seconds faster than he ran in SVC's previous 8k race on the same course. Ferguson was followed for Southern Vermont by sophomore Marc Brandmeyer (Bennington, Vt.) who was slightly behind at ninth overall with a 27:05 showing, a time 15 seconds ahead of what he posted on September 26 at Williams' 8k Purple Valley Classic.

Bennington College freshman Noah Froh (Milwaukee, Wis.) continued his placement of third for the Mountaineers as he came across the finish line at 29:09, a whole 1:17 ahead of his time at the other 8k on the Mount Greylock course, while SVC junior Corey Barcomb (Burlington, Vt.) was next to cross for the team at 29:49; Barcomb's time was 16 seconds quicker than that of what he put up at September's Purple Valley Classic.

Senior captain Cameron Michael Curtiss (Milton, Vt.) rounded out Southern Vermont's five scoring placements as he took 18 seconds off his other time at Mount Greylock with a 30:09 mark on Saturday, and junior Aden Fischer (Arlington, Vt.) completed the course at 34:52 to conclude SVC's day in Williamstown.

The Mountaineers are now set to visit Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn. next Saturday, November 14 for the NCAA Division III Regional Qualifier; the top 35 overall placements will move on to the NCAA National Championship the following weekend in Winneconne, Wis.
