BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Southern Vermont College Men's Volleyball team swept the Lesley University Lynx 3-0 in Men's Volleyball action Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers used a strong offense with a .310 hitting percentage along with a solid defensive effort to hold the Lynx to a .043 hitting clip.
Pierre Massena led SVC in his first collegiate volleyball game with eight kills on 17 attempts. Massena also contributed with three blocks for the Mountaineers. Sophomore Anthony Barahona also had eight kills for Southern Vermont to go with seven kills from Gabriel Franco. Freshman Herson Canta set the Mountaineer offense with 20 assists.
Southern Vermont improves to 5-6 in 2012 and is now 4-1 in NECC play. The Mountaineers will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to NECC foe Regis College for a 7PM start.
