ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Newbury College has claimed the top seed for the 2011 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men’s Volleyball Championship, which takes place Friday, March 25th for semifinal action and Saturday, March 26th for the championship match on the campus of Hellenic College in Brookline, Mass.
The 2010 Men’s Volleyball Champions, the Nighthawks (21-9 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after finishing undefeated at 8-0 in conference play.
The 2009 Champions, the Elms College Blazers (10-16) claimed the
#2 seed in with a 6-2 NECC record. The third spot was claimed by
the Eagles of Daniel Webster College (6-13) finishing with a 4-4
conference record. The final spot was earned by the Mountaineers of
Southern Vermont College (4-17) finishing with a 2-6 NECC
record.
The 2011 NECC Men’s Volleyball Championships will take place
in a two-day format at one site with the #1 seed Newbury hosting
the #4 seed Southern Vermont in the 6:00 p.m. game one, while the
#2 seed Elms will face the #3 seed Daniel Webster in game two at
8:00 p.m. of the semifinals on Friday, March 25.
The winners of these semifinal matches will advance to the championship match, which will begin 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26.
