BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Men's Volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note defeating Sage College 3-1. SVC improved to 5-17 and Sage fell to 13-10. The Mountaineers also recognized its three seniors Aaron Eschler, Neel Patel and Jose Taveras.
The Mountaineers took the first, second and fourth sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-22) while the Gators took the third set (25-14).
Freshman, Anthony Barahona led both teams with 21 kills on the evening. Connor Murray also added 10 kills for the Mountaineers. Anthony Ayala had a match high 37 assists and led the Mountaineers with 20 digs. Murray, Eschler, Barahona and Haggerty picked up 15, 12, 12 and 11 digs a piece.
Leading the way for the Gators was Jake Douty with 11 kills and Jeremy Mosch added 10. Cory Gransbury and Kyle Ray picked up 17 and 11 assists a piece. Matt Bynon led Sage with 26 digs.
SVC returns to action in the NECC Semi-finals against #1 seeded Newbury College on Friday, March 25th at 6:00 p.m.
