Men’s Volleyball Defeated by SUNYIT, 3-0

BENNINGTON, Vt. – SUNYIT handed Southern Vermont College Men's Volleyball team its second loss in a row. The Wildcats defeated the Mountaineers in three sets, 25-13, 25-20 and 26-24. 

SUNYIT improved to 5-2 while SVC fell to 2-5. 

"Although we came out flat at least we played them tighter and tougher the second time around, after only facing them a week ago," said Coach Stokes. 

The Wildcats limited SVC's hitting percentage to .104, while SUNYIT hit .217%. Leading the way for the Mountaineers was Anthony Barahona with 14 kills. Anthony Ayala added 21 assists while Aaron Eschler had six digs for SVC. 

SUNYIT's Ryan Meller had 13 kills while Jonathon Brochu had 28 assists. 

SVC returns to action Saturday, February 5th on the road against Daniel Webster and Lesley. Match times set for 12:00 p.m. and 2 p.m.
