MIT Defeats Men’s Volleyball, 3-0

BENNINGTON, Vt. – Southern Vermont Men's Volleyball lost its second straight match tonight. The Mountaineers were defeated by MIT, 3-0.

SVC was led by Anthony Barahona with six kills and Connor Murray with seven digs.

The Mountaineers played the first set tough with the Engineers at one point leading the set 14-13. But MIT proved too powerful pulling ahead to win 25-19. SVC couldn't overcome the first set loss and lost the next two 25-9 and 25-11.

SVC falls to 1-3 overall, while the Engineers improve to 10-1 overall.

Anthony Ayala added 10 assists to the effort while Aaron Eschler compiled six digs.

The Engineers were led by Ken Siebert with 12 kills and Tim Lee with 26 assists.

The Mountaineers return to action tomorrow hosting a tri-match against Lesley and Mount Saint Vincent. SVC hosts Lesley in the first match at 11:00 a.m. Lesley and Mount Saint Vincent face off at 1:00 p.m. The Mountaineers host the last match for the day against Mount Saint Vincent at 3:00 p.m.
