BENNINGTON, Vt. - Southern Vermont New and expanded men's volleyball team lost to Endicott College 3-0 (7-30, 7-30, 8-30) in the SVC Field House Wednesday night. Libero Ryan Heron could not dig the Mountaineers out of trouble as he finished with seven digs for the winless squad.
"With a number of roster changes we experienced in the week this is effectively the start of our second season. As a result there were some growing pains tonight; for every area we need to work on there are twice as many bright spots."
SVC also had solid performances from Cam Herrington, Aaron Eschler, and Joe Karnik who each had two kills apiece to keep Southern Vermont in the match. Rick Harrington, the setup man, had five assists, two digs, and 2 blocks as the Mountaineers fell to 0-10 this season.
B.J. Worth led the Endicott strike with seven kills on seven attempts; while Ben Foster had 11 assists as they improved to 16-7 overall.
The Mountaineer squad is still searching for its first win of the season and looks to improve against Lesley University who is 1-14 so far this year.
