#12 Rivier Too Strong For Game Mountaineer Squad

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College Men's Volleyball team lost to the 12th-ranked nationally Rivier College Raiders, 3-0 (30-14, 30-16, 30-16), in a New England Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) match played Thursday night in the SVC Field House.

The Mountaineers were led by the eight kills and five total blocks from junior middle hitter Keith Upham (West Fairlee, VT/ Rivendell Academy). The school's lone senior Brandon Dean (Petersburgh, NY/ Hoosick Fall Central) added five kills, an ace, and four digs on senior night. Defensive specialist Ryan Heron (Plantation, FL/ Plantation HS) contributed eight digs for the home squad who fell to 0-11 on the year and 0-6 in the NECVA.

For Rivier, Kyle O'Neil had a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs while Clint Whelan added 36 assists. Rivier improved to 11-6 on the season and 5-0 in conference

Next up for the Mountaineers is a Saturday road match at Emmanuel College at 5:00 p.m.
