BENNINGTON, Vt. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced Monday morning its selections for weekly award winners, and Southern Vermont College senior Erik Argueta (Pico Rivera, California) was named the Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the period ending October 19, 2014.

Argueta scored four times last week, slotting two goals in each of the Mountaineers' first two wins on the season. The senior put in a pair of insurance goals in a 3-0 victory at Becker Tuesday and then put in what would prove to be the game-winner at Wheelock on Saturday just 1:48 into the match. He now has a team-leading five goals on the year. This is the second time in Argueta's collegiate career that he has received the NECC Player of the Week award.

The senior and the Mountaineers are back in action this week with two crucial NECC matchups that Southern Vermont will need to win in order to keep postseason hopes alive.
