BENNINGTON, Vt. — The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Monday its all-conference teams for fall sports with Southern Vermont College men’s soccer senior Erik Argueta (Pico Rivera, California) being named to the All-NECC First Team.

This marks the first top-team honor for Argueta to cap his career at SVC. He was named an All-NECC Honorable Mention each of the last two years after picking up the league’s Rookie of the Year and all-conference second team honors following his 2011 freshman season.

The midfielder finished the 2014 campaign with six goals including one coming in the final five minutes of his last game as a Mountaineer. Argueta’s four-year SVC career saw him tally 20 goals, four being game-winners, and 14 assists for 54 points. He was also a perfect 4-4 from the penalty dot during his time at Southern Vermont.

Argueta continues a tradition of Mountaineers receiving top recognition as there has now been an SVC men’s soccer player named to the All-NECC First Team for seven years running, going back to the inception of the league in 2008.
