BENNINGTON, Vt. — The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Monday its weekly spring award winners for the period ending April 12, 2015 with Southern Vermont College freshman Niko D’Agnese (Mahopec, N.Y.) being tabbed the Baseball Rookie of the Week.

D'Agnese had a breakout week for the Mountaineers, collecting his first collegiate hit and his first collegiate RBI to help SVC take its season series over Lesley. The rookie went 4-8 at the dish over the weekend, scoring four runs and knocking in a fifth. He also swiped a base in each game against the Lynx and tallied a double for a .625 slugging percentage.

The rookie and the Mountaineers return to NECC action this weekend with a home-and-away series against Elms College after three non-league contests throughout the week.
