FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Southern Vermont College baseball team slid past the Finlandia University of Hancock, Missouri 5-2 Saturday, March 13, at Terry Park. Sophomore captain Dan Cook lifted SVC with a home run, going 2-for-4 on the day with three RBI’s.
The win improves Southern Vermont to 3-4 overall, while the Lions fall to 1-6.
Sophomore Ben Naaktgeboren (1-1) picked up his first win of the year and sophomore Connor Murray got the save pitching four scoreless innings for the Mountaineers.
Sophomore Danny Vardaro went 2-for-3 scoring once to round out the box for SVC. The Mountaineers will be back in action on Tuesday, March 23rd, when it hosts MCLA at 3:00 p.m.
