FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Southern Vermont baseball team lost a close one to the Fredonia State University Blue Devils of N.Y. by a score of 10-6 to end their Florida trip. Sophomore captain Dan Cook (Watervliet, N.Y.), freshman Pat Warrington (Folcroft, Pa.) and freshman Andrew Morin (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) were all 2 for 4 on the day with a run scored.

Fredonia State took an early lead in the first, tacking up two runs quickly. SVC answered with one of their own in the bottom of the third inning with an RBI single from junior Brett Pawlak (Shelton, Conn.). The Mountaineers' bats got rolling late in the game, scoring five runs in the last three innings due to doubles from Morin and sophomore captain Adam Northup (Richmond, R.I.) who each knocked in two runs. Freshman Pete Metzler (Lawrence, Kan.) contributed to the scoring going 1 for 2 on the day with a walk, RBI, and run scored.
