Captain Cook Wins NECC Player of the Week

BENNINGTON, Vt. - Captain Dan Cook (Watervliet, N.Y.) was honored, Tuesday, by the New England Collegiate Conference as he won the Player of the Week Award, the first of the year for Cook and fifth NECC award garnered by the Southern Vermont baseball team this year.

The marketing major had a solid week batting .600 with three RBI, three runs; including a three run homer against Conference foe Elms College.

The sophomore catcher led his team to a 1-1 week, hitting safely in both games, collecting multiple hits in the split with Elms. He slugged .750 and posted a 1.200 on-base percentage, while finishing the week with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

The sophomore is batting .321, with three home runs, 15 RBI, .481 slugging percentage, .421 on base percentage, and a .941 fielding percentage in 23 games of play this season.
