Bennington, VT - Southern Vermont College sophomore shortstop Brett Pawlak (Ansonia, Conn.) is this week's Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. Pawlak went 6-of-9 (.667) from the plate with six RBI, three runs scored, two stolen bases and one walk. He registered an .889 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage to go along with a perfect week in the field. He also tallied a bases-clearing triple during the Mountaineers' 1-1 week.

Southern Vermont College has tripled its win total from a season ago and stands at 3-18 on the year. Pawlak, who has a team-best .371 average, and the Mountaineers will return to action Tuesday at Anna Maria College for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch.
