Marching In: SVC Baseball Scores 16 Against Saints

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College baseball team scored early and often in a 16-5 defeat of the Fighting Saints of Saint Joseph's (VT).

SVC (5-22) scored ten times in the third and 14 times in the first three innings. John Wallner (Manchester, VT/Burr & Burton) pitched a complete-game to pick up his second win of the season. The sophomore struck out six. Four Mountaineers registered two hits. Freshman catcher Dan Cook (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet) led the way with a triple and a double to go along with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Freshman outfielder Will Foland (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) tallied two knocks with two RBIs and a run scored. Designated hitter Adam Northup (Richmond, RI/Chariho Regional) knocked in two runs and scored two runs. The freshman, like Cook, pounded a double and a triple. Freshman first baseman Tim Johnson (Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) had three RBI's with a run scored to go with his two hits. Sophomore outfielder Kyle Hoseit (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) scored three runs for the green and white.

Southern Vermont College will play Williams College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for Senior Day.
