The Mountaineers then play nine more non-conference games before the winter break—three of those being at home with the last two being in Puerto Rico; the team will be the first Southern Vermont squad to ever play outside the continental U.S., taking on Cortland State and Carthage College December 19-20 in the Puerto Rico Classico. SVC then plays one final non-league tilt after the New Year before jumping into New England Collegiate Conference action on Tuesday, January 9 at Wheelock College. Southern Vermont will hold Senior Day on Saturday, February 17 in conjunction with a 1 p.m. tip-off against Newbury College.

Women’s Basketball

Women’s basketball has a chock-full, 25-game regular season lined up for 2017-18 with 13 of those contests being on the SVC campus. The Mountaineers open up the campaign at home for the first time since 2010 when they host Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15. Southern Vermont follows that with six more non-league games—including Medgar Evers College’s Dr. Betty Shabazz Tournament November 25-26—before turning to the New England Collegiate Conference schedule. The Mountaineers are slated to play four NECC contests before the winter break with the first being at Newbury College on Saturday, December 2. SVC sandwiches the New Year with its final two non-conference games—home against SUNY Cobleskill (Dec. 16) and home against Mount Ida College (Jan. 4)—before getting back into league action to finish out the regular season.
