Inside the numbers: Kelly had a strong week for SVC—but played especially well during the Mountaineers’ two wins in Myrtle Beach. She batted .375 through the team’s eight games in the Palmetto State while adding six runs scored, four RBI’s, and three stolen bases to her line. The rookie also had a pair of triples and three walks to post a .444 on-base percentage and a .542 slugging percentage. Kelly recorded hits in six of SVC’s games in South Carolina with her two multi-hit performances coming during the Mountaineers’ wins. She went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored to help SVC start the trip with a victory over Principia, and she then went 3-4 with three runs batted in and another run scored during Southern Vermont’s 12-4 victory over Sewanee.
What Coach McDonough is saying: "Michaela has been great for us early on this season. Her speed and athleticism allow her to cover so much ground in centerfield. On offense, she is our catalyst. I’m looking forward to seeing her build on this early success as we begin conference play.”
