ATHLETE OF THE WEEK FOR PERIOD ENDING 3/17/19
Jess Foley #7 (Women’s Lacrosse)
Jr. / 5-2 / Defense
Hometown: Wrentham, Mass.
High School: King Philip Regional HS
Major: Radiologic Sciences
Inside the numbers: Foley was impressive to her SVC teammates and fans last week as she displayed bursts of speed that raised the Mountaineers’ eyebrows. Listed as a defender to start the year, she spent a lot of time during Southern Vermont’s last two games in the midfield and attacking thirds of the pitch. The junior was responsible for a pair of Purchase turnovers on Monday, and she then tallied another two caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls at Keuka on Friday.
What Coach Boyer is saying: "Jess is key player on our team. She comes into practice every day ready to have fun. Jess has been consistent for us on attack and has shown speed in the midfield and on transitions. She is an exciting player to watch, and I look forward to what she has to bring the rest of the season.”
