Inside the numbers: Daniel had a great week as he helped Southern Vermont go 2-0 in league play. The junior averaged 11.5 points per game on a 57.1 percent clip from the floor, and he also notched three rebounds, three steals, and 1.5 assists per contest. Daniel first had six points, four steals, and three boards during 28 minutes of a big-time win over Dean on Thursday; he followed that with a career-best 17 points to lead SVC in its Saturday win at Elms. Against the Blazers, he went 6-9 on field goal attempts—including a 3-5 performance from downtown. Saturday was the third time of the season—and of his career—that Daniel reached double figures in a game.
What Coach Johnson is saying: “Damon’s confidence is through the roof right now. He is being aggressive on defense and offense. This past week, he has been able to be a spark plug to our lineup. Damon’s aggression has rubbed off on all of his teammates in a positive manner. He’s tough and does not back down from a challenge.”
